As Elisabet is going through a mid-life crisis, she thinks about her cousin Sophie, her childhood idol who at 50 left a successful career in London to build a hotel in Mali. Elisabet decides to go there to meet her despite the risks. On this whirlwind journey, the women find a kinship while contemplating broken dreams and new adventures.
